The Monday close up I shot last week was on Tandi “Tandilion” Schaeffer who had her first mma fight that Friday. She was a very gracious subject, allowing me to tag along for training, weigh in, hair styling and plenty of access the night of the fight. She dominated her opponent for three whole rounds ending in a TKO. Very exciting to watch after spending the week photographing her. I think I was more nervous than she was.

A bit of a disappointment at the fight when my first attempt at a remote camera in the rafters above the ring at UVU’s McKay Events Center didn’t work out (not sure why, probably battery drain) but lesson learned for next time.

Schaeffer fights again this Friday at Buffalo Bills in Primm, Nevada if anyone is hanging out in Vegas this weekend.
