LumaLabs LumaLoop Strap Unveiled

Those of us who made the Utah PJ Lunch Meetup Whatever Thing today at Thai Siam got a sneak preview of the new LumaLoop camera strap courtesy of Bryan Jones. Gotta say it, the thing is very cool. It’s a single loop strap that improves upon those zip line straps that work like one of those retractable key rings. What I mean to say is that this one doesn’t make you look like a gadget-carrying Batman. It’s just a nice, comfortable strap that keeps your camera where you want it, ready to shoot.

I could see this coming in handy on a lot of sports shoots, where you’re shooting with a 400 on a monopod and your second camera is on your shoulder. This thing would make switching fast. Some concern was raised at the table about the security of having your camera connected to the strap by a quick release (the suggestion was that it would be easy for a thief to unhook it quickly). But the quick release would also get the strap out of your way when you’re shooting from a set position (like an NBA game). Here’s some info and link to the site:

Comfortably carry your camera all day long. Go anywhere you want to go with both hands free. Busy events, out on the town, on vacation, or just for a walk in the park. When you see the shot you want, your camera is right at hand and ready to use. The LumaLoop will redefine your relationship with your camera.
