A letter in today’s Deseret News…
Jeffrey Allred’s photo in Sunday’s paper may be considered by many a great action shot — arms in the air, hair blowing in the wind. That, however, was not my immediate focus. This child is not wearing a helmet. How many stories have been recently reported of head injuries while engaging in “harmless” activities? The Deseret News should be more responsible in this regard and not sacrifice promoting safety over showing us the perfect Kodak moment.

Is there a link to the photo? And sounds like the multiple phone calls and e-mails I got after doing a story on a bicycle riding group last year.
Here is the link to the photo.

Nerds.
Seriously though, in all my years of sledding and sledding related activities I’ve never seen a kid wearing a helmet.
True. You have to wonder if this letter was a prank.
