The Salt Lake Tribune seeks a Deputy Director of Photography. The DDOP works closely with the director of photography in all facets of management, with an emphasis on the daily assignment schedule. The successful candidate has management experience, is a collaborative and proactive leader, and understands that this is a management, not shooting, position. The DDOP is in charge of the department in the director’s absence, including the two days a week the director is off, attends various meetings as the department’s representative, edits collaboratively with photographers, helps manage the visuals report online, and has primary responsibility for several specialty areas of the newsroom. The successful candidate has a high degree of technical expertise, including in video, audio and multimedia. This position will be filled relatively quickly.
