Going through old archives and found this one. Anyone other than Brian ever run a marathon with a camera?

I’m really glad that photo is out of focus.
Here’s a four-year-old Soundslides presentation from the Boston Marathon. Unfortunately, my camera battery hit the wall at mile 18 and I had to borrow photos from AP to finish the presentation.
I had planned to strap a GoPro onto my backpack and use it in the time-lapse mode to capture the St. George Marathon this year but our camera crapped out on us three weeks before the race. Despite assurances from the folks at GoPro that they would overnight a warranty replacement it didn’t arrive in time. GoPro’s customer service is a little lacking. But next year, it’s a sure thing.
Pretty impressive that you got interviews while you ran for the sound slides, Brian….
A time lapse would be a great idea, especially if you had it facing backwards. My first experience running with a camera was the SLC in 2005 and I think I was using a Canon G-something camera. Most of the photos were awful. At Boston, I used a Leica D-Lux 3 and an Edirol recorder. Better photos for sure, but after 300+ photos, the battery pooped out.
Can’t wait to see your time lapse project.
Jud, You probably already saw this but it’s a sweet time lapse from the LA Times.
