MS Mud Run

On Saturday I volunteered as a photographer for the first annual MS Mud Run at Miller Motorsports. It was the first time that I’d ever done something like that so I wasn’t sure on what to expect. They had several stations along the 6.2-mile course and I randomly chose two that sounded fun to shoot: the gorilla ropes and the rope bridge (above). Fortunately, both made great photos. All and all it was a pretty fun weekend and a great organization to work with.

Daily Herald Pictures of the Year

http://www.heraldextra.com/app/2010photos

We had some big news this year in Happy Valley: a plane crash, a rollover in a high school parking lot and the loss of a landmark. But I think that despite the assignment, happy or sad, the Daily Herald photographers (Mark Johnston, Patrick Smith, Kristin Heinichen and Andrew Van Wagenen) produced some really great work. I’m so proud of them all.

Happy New Year to you all.

From the archives: Homebirth

I was going through some archives and realized that it’s been four years since I shot a homebirth in Provo. The assignment has always been one of my favorites. I’ve always been so grateful that the Lunds allowed me to be a part of one of the most special moments of their lives.
