Justice desk called tonight about an accident on 400 W. Luckily, nobody was injured. My guess is someone forgot to tell this driver, who was later arrested for DUI, “Street Moto Freestyle” is not a scheduled event in the Dew Tour. I still can’t quite picture how this happened in a 25mph zone, but the Audi apparently struck the left rear side of a truck while trying to pass and did a barrel roll right in front of the Tribune office.
As I sat toning photos at work Sunday night, a lightning storm reminded me that an entire world still exists outside and it’s a crazy, incomprehensible visual spectacle. I stepped out on the balcony and watched as flash after flash of electricity struck down and moved across the valley. I wondered if other people had a similar realization and if they would enjoy sitting inside at their computers clicking on these pictures of outside. Apparently they did. I quickly became bored with nature once again and am fully back to normal.

Heard about the fire Sunday afternoon and ran up there to see if I could get something. It felt great to be out shooting!
This kid above the photogs was rooting loudly for Temple against Notre Dame in the NCAA women’s 2nd round at the Huntsman. Here was my view looking up:
See the work of Vivian Maier, who died in 2009, leaving behind 100,000 negatives that no one but she had ever seen. The photographs are being hailed as among the best in 20th-century street photography.
