Hey gang, at last week’s gymnastics meet there was a bit of confusion about whether you could have a backpack on the floor. Liz Abel has cleared up the confusion. Here are the three issues to keep in mind…

1. Don’t stay on the floor after the meet, sending photos. The crew has to clean up the arena and switch it to basketball. From Liz:

SOLUTION: You may take your backpack with you but when you send your photos please use the media space at the scorer’s table, in the upper press box or in the south reception area. We can also set a table up in the men’s basketball locker room if that would help.

2. Don’t get too close when shooting vault.

SOLUTION: We are marking a photo box with white tape.

3. Don’t stand or otherwise block views of fans and judges.

Seems like common sense to me. Thanks to Liz for clarifying the situation and to everyone (staff, coaches, athletes, photographers) for making things smooth going forward.

Going for three stars while playing the waiting game at Sundance, Mr. Jim.

When I first signed on for the Yearbook (the “Olympian”) staff in high school, I was 15 years old, looking for , as my mom reminded me any number of times, something that would qualify as an ‘extra-curricular’ activity if I had any hope of actually getting into college.
