  • So, I’ve read, not to use live mode and that will fry your sensor. I’ve also been told to put the filters in front of the lens, Not the back! The NDs work great, but desaturate the photo. Best is a solar filter. You’re looking/needing 16.5 stops worth for ideal (ND 100,000). According to my friend who has been a long time member of SLAS, and has the largest refracting telescope in Utah, had said even a sliver of the sun can still damage your retna looking at it bare. Keep in mind that the lens will amplify the suns strength. Remember...
