I despise cheerleaders …
Anyone that has spent time with me on sidelines and baselines during high school, college or professional sporting events knows of my absolute aversion to cheerleaders.
I have never understood their role in sports and will never comprehend why so much make-up and perfume has to be involved.
So with that said, I was really annoyed when the BYU cheerleaders stepped in front of my photo position during free throws … but I was surprised when I was actually able to make a frame during the annoyance.

Vakapuna

What do you guys think about this crop?
I was going back and forth between cropping at #26′s thighs and #7′s (his) right thigh, versus how I cropped it above. I currently have it at their shins because I felt that the angle of their bodies (and legs) contributed to the motion and temporary state of the picture. Thoughts? The frame is much larger originally.
My 2011 College Football
These season I shot all but one of Utah’s home college football games for the Associated Press. I just put together a gallery of the images I liked for whatever reason. Some of the images got really good play. If you are a rabid Utah fan you may not like it, but I think I was very fair in my coverage of the year.

Ron McBride Retires
Weber State’s Ron McBride coached his last home game last Saturday. More pictures can be seen on my blog HERE.

Weber State Head Coach Ron McBride is lifted up by his football team after winning the game at Stewart Stadium Saturday November 12, 2011. McBride, 72, has coached the Wildcats since 2005 and has an overall record of 41-38, including 32-21 in the Big Sky Conference. In 2008 and 2009, McBride guided Weber State to back-to-back Football Championship Subdivision playoffs for the first time in school history. Weber State won the game 34-31.
