Shot portraits of Katelyn Pursel for a special section dedicated to 9/11. The S-E had readers submit their own stories from not only that day, but also how that day affected their lives forever, and they chose a few to publish as is. Katelyn, who was 9 years old on 9/11, wrote a very personal piece about her brother who was killed by an IED in Iraq a few years ago. The pendant she wears around her neck has his ashes inside.

…For a couple days. The city resurrected Winterfest and trucked in tons of snow to 25th Street for ski jouring, snowmobile racing, skiing, human sled dog racing, etc. It was warm and slushy, but still a good time.
Josh Stuart goes off a jump while ski jouring, being pulled on skis by a horse, at the Winterfest in downtown Ogden. Stuart is on the ski racing team at Weber State University.
